Legionella Risk Assessment for Landlords
Target audience
Recent changes to the HSE guidance have highlighted to many individuals that they need to perform risk assessments for Legionella control in properties that they lease or manage. These include duty holders of properties, landlords, and individuals effected by changes in legislation relating to the control of Legionella.
This training course is designed to inform these individuals what their legal obligations are and how to perform ‘a simple risk assessment’ in accordance of the legal guidance.
Aims and objectives
The course aims to inform duty holders of properties how to perform simple risk assessments. The following topics are covered in the training:
- History and origins of Legionella bacteria and known cases
- What are and what are not your legal obligations
- Control of Legionellosis
- Changes to ACOP
- Information on the risks associated with different water systems
- What has to be done in tenanted properties
- Temperature control
- The risk assessment process to record keeping
