About the Managing Safely course
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. The course is designed to ensure that all managers are aware of, and understand their responsibilities in relation to health and safety.
Managing safely ensures that managers are informed of practical applications of health and safety in their organisations and teams, allowing the delegates to have an insight into how they will manage their health and safety obligations.
Although this course goes into detail on managers’ and supervisors’ obligations the aim of the course is not to turn delegates into health and safety experts; the course is designed in a way that gives delegates the knowledge and skills that they will require in order to fulfil their obligations and understand what elements of health and safety within their organisation they are responsible for. The course also emphasises how health and safety constitutes such an important element of their jobs and its importance within the workplace.
The course is comprised of the following seven modules:
- Introducing managing safely
- Assessing risks
